This volume in the POSA series explores the concepts underlying patterns. The goal is to bring together the POSA pattern theory in one volume allowing readers to deepen their understanding of what patterns are, what they are not, and how to use them successfully.
This concepts volume will revisit principles developed in previous POSA volumes and in GoF and other sources of software pattern literature and plans to enhance, revise and extend these ideas. It will also serve as the reference manual for all POSA patterns, because it includes all POSA patterns in Patlet/Alexandrian form of two pages per pattern, woven together in a pattern language.
